8.12.09 As Landlord for owner St. John’s Investors Limited Partnership, Ziff Properties, Inc. is pleased to announce that renovations to Kalmia Plaza are underway and are expected to be complete by November 2009. The 217,000 square foot center is located on Richland Avenue within one mile of downtown Aiken, and is anchored by Food Lion and Rose’s Department Store. Originally built in 1968, this is the first major renovation to the center since 1998. The plaza has long been a destination shopping location for Aiken residents and the renovations will help to ensure it remains so in the future. In conjunction with the renovations Ziff announced the signing of a lease with Cititrends, a value priced family apparel retailer catering to budget conscious but stylish men, women and children. Cititrends will occupy approximately 12,000 square feet adjacent to Food Lion and anticipates opening in time for the holiday shopping season. Tim Norton, Director of Leasing for ZPI, says Cititrends is a “great fit” at Kalmia Plaza and in Aiken, and says it shows that even in the current economy smart retailers recognize that doing business in Aiken and at Kalmia Plaza makes sense. |
