The 1st SS Community Yard Sale in the Marketplace at Southern Shores has come and gone! We were thrilled with everyone who showed up and withstood the heat of the day! There were about 15 families and 1 merchant who came to participate. We have heard positive feedback from some of the participants of the yard sale and the community. Some of the participants even raised money for their favorite charities! There were hundreds of people who came to the shopping center, so hopefully some of the merchants benefitted from the event as well. There is already interest in a Fall yard sale or at least making this an annual event!

Thank you for granting us permission to use the shopping center parking lot....it was the perfect location! Also, thank you for your support and willingness to work with our community group to make this event a reality. Have a great day!

IT'S FASHION SET TO OPEN AT ROOSEVELT GARDENS - Norfolk, VA - January 25th, 2012

Ziff Properties, Inc. is pleased to announce that It’s Fashion Metro has signed a lease for 7,500 square feet of space in the Roosevelt Gardens Shopping Center. To accommodate It’s Fashion Metro, the current Cato store will relocate to 6,160 square feet, and It's Fashion Metro will backfill the CATO space. It's Fashion Metro is a division of The CATO Corporation, and specializes in trendier fashion that appeals to a younger demographic than Cato serves. Construction is underway and Cato will open in the new location prior to Easter and It’s Fashion Metro will open in July or August, in time for back-to-school sales. Ziff Properties, Inc. recently acquired from the REO Department of a large national bank, the Maplecrest Industrial Center, +/- 60,000 square feet of flex space in Charlotte's prominent Westinghouse corridor.

In this transaction, Christian Chamblee and Shaun Payne handled the acquisition in-house for ZPI. Rob Speir of Colliers International and Brad Cherry of Jones Lang LaSalle represented the seller.

ZPI acquired the property for $3.2 million and was an all cash transaction, free of financing. ZPI continue to aggressively seek multi-tenant commercial property in and around the Southeast.

The new Carmike location will feature ten screens with total seating for 1,800 and will be highlighted by a state-of-the-art “BIGD” auditorium, Carmike’s premium theater environment.

With the opening of the new location, the Wilmington area joins a select and growing list of markets in the nation offering Carmike theater-goers the exciting new BIGD format.

The Village at Myrtle Grove, located at 5511 Carolina Boulevard, provides Carmike’s new theater location a strategic signalized high-traffic intersection in the heart of a retail hub, and convenient to southwest Wilmington and nearby beaches. A population of over 100,000 resides within 15 minutes of The Village at Myrtle Grove’s positioning at the intersection of Highway 421 and Piner Road.
