SUMMARY:

Ziff Properties, Inc. (ZPI) is seeking a Human Resources Manager to support the company’s growth initiatives and manage day-to-day human resources operations.

POSITION:

The Human Resource Manager is responsible for the full scope of human resource activities and reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer. In addition to professionalizing HR management for our existing real estate businesses, the Human Resources Manager will be charged with coordinating the staff up of a new real estate division, which will also include the documentation and implementation of best practices for a regional field service organization.

This individual will play a key role in creating a new field service organization as well handling employee relations, training and organizational development, and recruitment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage the administration of human resource policies, programs and practices.

Lead the design, recruitment and oversite of a field organization capable of managing a growing network of commercial real estate sites across the U.S.

Responsible for recruitment and on-boarding process for all employees; will collaborate with department managers to develop innovative recruitment strategies; screen applicants, conduct interviews and reference checks and refer qualified applicants to the appropriate supervisor.

Advertise for open or newly created positions, evaluate resumes, and set up candidate interviews.

Handle general employee relations, coaching and counseling, providing documentation and administering disciplinary action and terminations. This also includes assisting and advising company managers on resolving employee issues, conducting investigations, preparing investigation reports and making recommendations based on policy, best practice and legal justification.

Communicate and ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations related to employment and with company policies and procedures. As needed, update and maintain all required state, federal and local posters (E.g. EEO, workers compensation, harassment prevention, federal and state labor law posters, etc.).

Prepare and maintain the employee handbook and any company approved training and counseling documents.

Perform benefits administration, assist with claims resolution and status changes, review benefits invoices, and all other benefits-related matters. This includes direct coordination with benefits broker to ensure the highest level of service and benefits for the organization.

Develop and distribute updated benefits information to all employees and respond to employees on benefit related questions.

Create and complete special HR projects to enhance the company’s Human Resources department and HR experience.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience in business administration and/or Human Resource Management.

6-8 years of general human resources experience with 2-3 years of in-depth experience in Employee Relations.

Previous leadership position in HR field required; experience with building regional field organizations and documenting policies and procedures important.

Considerable working knowledge of principles and practices of all human resources areas.

Familiarity with Cobra, ERISA, FMLA and related state and federal regulations required.

  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office, LMS and other HR related software)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience producing training and operating manuals as well as communicating effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Must possess strong analytical and leadership skills, the ability to manage multiple activities with a strong attention to detail.

PREFERRED:

Knowledge and experience with systems and technology that support HR shared services.

Proven ability to manage highly confidential information.

Experience with ADP or similar HRIS software/payroll systems.
